Description

Patient Profile (Before Treatment)

  • Age: 55 years
  • Diagnosis: Advanced-stage lipedema (Stage 3) affecting bilateral lower extremities and arms
  • Primary Symptoms:
    • Severe disproportionate fat accumulation in legs and arms
    • Constant pain and tenderness in affected areas
    • Easy bruising
    • Significant difficulty with exercise and mobility
    • Heavy, columnar-shaped legs with poor cosmetic appearance
    • Emotional distress related to body image and chronic pain

Treatment Performed (Staged Power-Assisted/Tumescent Liposuction)

  1. Stage 1: Bilateral lower extremity liposuction
    10.5 liters of lipedema fat removed
  2. Stage 2 (6–12 months later):
    → Additional 3.5 liters removed from thighs and calves
    → Simultaneous thigh lift (medial thighplasty) and vertical calf lift for skin redundancy
  3. Stage 3 (most recent):
    → Arm lipedema liposuction + brachioplasty (arm lift)

Total lipedema fat removed: 14+ liters

After Results (Current Status – 2025)

  • Virtually complete resolution of leg and arm pain and tenderness
  • No more easy bruising
  • Dramatic improvement in leg and arm shape – restored normal proportions
  • Significant increase in exercise tolerance; patient now walks, cycles, and strength-trains regularly without pain
  • Marked improvement in mobility and quality of life
  • Smooth contour with minimal scarring (incisions hidden in natural creases)
  • Patient reports: “I finally have my life back – I can wear normal clothes and move without pain.”
